Our plan for pre-k programs

We will be working to provide families with resources that can be used to prepare children for their upcoming kindergarten classes. We will provide academic and social enrichment that is accessible to all.

People seem to believe pre-kindergarten programs are inessential when compared to K-12 education and view these early programs as a waste of money. The truth is, in fact, the opposite. Pre-kindergarten programs are tremendously necessary for a child’s cognitive and noncognitive development which then translates to likely success in school. The lack of such programs and resources for lower-income communities therefore encourages a system where lower SES students are continually less prepared for their schooling than higher SES students. As shown by the research conducted by the Economic Policy Institute, children in the highest socioeconomic group are more advanced in not only reading and math, but also in the advancement of non-cognitive abilities such as “self-control and approaches to learning” which come hand in hand. The Urban Child Institute describes how a healthy foundation has proven to show positive implications in later years of education. The research analyzing Oklahoma’s Pre-K programs shows that in 3rd and 4th grade, those who had received higher quality pre-schooling had performed better and behaved more positively in the learning environment.

With our resources, parents will be able to provide beneficial, cost efficient, preparation at their homes to ensure a positive learning experience for their children later on.

Our plan for primary and secondary schools

We will provide free, accessible tutoring during the school year to ensure children have a better understanding of the information they are learning. We will additionally provide free, accessible summer programs to assure student minds are afresh for the upcoming school years.
Exclusively high school students will be provided with college preparation courses focused on the application process, the SAT/ACT, and SAT subject tests.

Our vision

This organization is modeled by the “whole-child” approach whereby we will be invested in each and every student to guarantee they are safe, engaged, and challenged in all aspects. As we continue to build and develop, we value new ideas and appreciate input. We have created an environment that is welcoming and receptive.
